We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too much. We laugh too little, drive too fast, we irritate too easily. We go to bed too late and we raise too much tired.

We read too little, watch too much TV and pray too rarely. We accumulated possessions, but restricted our values. We speak too much, love too badly and hate too often. We learnt to keep the earn, but not to make a success of it. We added the years to the life, no life in the years. We went on the moon and we returned there, but we do not know how to cross any more the street to say hello to a neighbour. We investigated the space, but not our internal being. We made bigger, but not better things. We cleansed the air, but makes dirty our soul. We split the atom, but not our prejudices. We write more, but we learn less. We plan everything, but realize nothing. We learnt to go fast, but not to wait.

We always build more computers which can contain always more information to produce even more papers, but we communicate less. Here is come the time of the fast food and the digestive slowness; the time of the big men and the small spirits; that of the big profits and the small passions. We have the peace in the world, but the war at the house; more leisure activities, but less pleasure; the more to eat, but the less appétite. We get more money, but more divorces. Our houses are more attractive, but our homes are broken.

Here is come the time of the fast transport, the disposable coats, the cheap morality and the courtship in the evening; that of the obese women and the pills for everything to sleep, to wake up and to kill the time of the beautiful shop windows and the empty reserves. Here is come the time when the technology has the power to bring you these some words and that where you have the choice to stop one moment on them either to erase them ................. "
